     What Is Blender ?

    What Is Box Cutter ?

➤ BoxCutter is a fully featured Boolean system more powerful than Booltool and Hard Ops combined however goes in a direction that is unique and different.

This is not an extension. This is a separate tool. Focused purely on cutting.

The features and workflows developed in Hard Ops are intended to streamline and speed up the hard surface workflow. Box Cutter is merely a concept of another idea that was just too big to be just a button in another plugin.

     

What is the difference between Hard Ops and Boxcutter?

HardOps is a toolkit that encompasses more than just modelling. There are tools pertaining to rendering, mirroring, inserts and even sculpting tools. This is the core of my workflow in Blender and is recommended for anyone doing Hard Surface.

Boxcutter is just a cutter. However, by just a cutter we mean this tool is focused on being the fastest and easy to use 3d view cut tool. If you love Hard Ops then Boxcutter is just another piece of the workflow. We're always working on enhancing them to exceed our initial goals.

What can BoxCutter do?

- visually draw and cut using box, circle, and ngon allowing for a bevy of cuts and slices
- dynamically bevel / array / solidify in 3D
- bevel individual points
- grab / rotate / scale shapes in 2D
- cut, slice, inset, project cut and
- union and subtraction cutting
- copy and paste 2D shapes
- material cutting via Hard Ops connectivity
